Pontllanfraith go into the 2017/18 season with some fresh faces on the coaching team. Former Blackwood RFC assistant coach Neil Clarke will be joining the coaching team bringing some fresh ideas, struction and great enthusiasm. Neil started his coaching journey at Risca coaching mini rugby before joining Blackwood as a youth coach where he coached many of Pont's youngsters. Neil then moved into senior rugby as Blackwood's assistant coach, but his desire to have a more hands on, prominent role within a club meant that Neil was keen to move on. And with that, Pontllanfraith as delighted to welcome Neil on board.
Also joining to team will be Andrew Deneen as player coach. Andrew began his career at Pontllanfraith aged 16 as a part of our youth team before moving onto make many appearances for the senior team. Ever ambitous, Andrew moved on to play at a higher level with teams like Bedwas, Machen and Blackwood. But now he's finally seen sense and has chose to come home.
Craig Maggs, Craig Coleman, Wayne Hopkins and Steve Morgan will be reprising their roles for another season.
